Grassroots Update: Bad Bill Requires Overwhelming Opposition

You’ve probably heard about HB 1859 by now – if not, click here for the rundown. It poses a host of problems for AL residents, staff and providers. We must strongly oppose this bill at every opportunity, and you have an essential role to play. 

We are competing with the bill’s proponents to demonstrate the direction of public opinion through the number of people registering their stance on HB 1859. As of this writing, 619 of your colleagues across long term care are signed in ‘con’. 302 people are signed in ‘pro’. Although we have the lead, our margin is dwindling, and we must act decisively to show that this bill is overwhelmingly unpopular.
