Overview:
Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) have come to the forefront of society in recent years. These concepts are the heart of an organization’s culture. Research has shown that culture dictates performance and engagement amongst the workforces. Long term care is no stranger to challenges in staffing, morale, and performance—all of which were amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic.
DEIB provides an opportunity to address morale, retention, and performance while also impacting patient outcomes. So, what does DEIB really mean? Understanding key language and core concepts is the first step towards improving employees’ experience and productivity. Obtain activities and learn how to embed DEIB into your organization’s success. Also, learn about efforts happening at a state level to promote DEIB into caregiver education and development.
Learning objectives:
- Understand the core concepts of DEIB
- Learn about DEIB impact on performance and opportunities in long term care
- Hear about a DEIB program in long term care
- Understand state level efforts on DEIB education in long term care
