COURSE REVIEW:
Clinical and administrative staff working in the long-term care setting will only neglect the need to understand appropriate wound care at their own peril. The cost of not having a well-informed workforce in this area can be exorbitant and involve huge compliance and financial risk to the organization. In some cases, it may extend to charges of clinical negligence to the organizations and clinicians.
This presentation provided a high-level clinical overview and then pivoted to tap into the interest of appropriate administrative staff and the role they must play. It must be understood that this is not a clinical endeavor alone, there are operational support needs clinicians may not ask for and it is the responsibility of wise business operators to know this fact and provide an environment suitable for success. Wound care is about clinical competencies and business confidence. Let’s get it right this time!
