Overview:

Telehealth services can be beneficial for individuals seeking support but not able to spend additional time traveling to appointments. For some, there may not be many options available, and telehealth can close that gap providing wonderful accessibility. During this session, participants will learn ways to reduce the stigma around telehealth for both residents and staff in long term care. As well, presenters will provide insight on the ways telehealth can decrease costs associated with behavior health support and improve staff retention. Participants will also learn the techniques in telehealth and how they compare to in-person care. Finally, the presentation will focus on how using telehealth ultimately reduces hospitalizations.
